Shoot and Destroy

Build Your Battlefield – Engineer Your Assault

Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-10-22.

Shoot and Destroy is a free, open-source multiplayer game. It has no accounts, no ads and no analytics: we do not track you, profile you or sell anything about you. This page says exactly what the game sends over the network, who receives it, what is kept and how to have it removed. It covers the game on every platform and this website.

What the game sends

  • To the server you join: the player name you chose, what you do in the match (movement, shots, building), your chat messages and your device's IP address, which any network connection reveals. The server needs them to run the match and to show your name and chat to the other players in it.
  • To our server list (master.shootanddestroy.obex.pw): a request for the list of servers, which carries your IP address. In the browser version, the request to join a server passes through it too. We keep none of this: the list lives in memory and requests are not logged.
  • To community services, when you open the server list: the public server list of the classic game (services.buildandshoot.com), its news feed (aos.party) and a version check (butter.penguins.win). Each receives your IP address with the request.

Nothing else leaves your device. Your settings, your player name and your screenshots stay in the game's folder on your device.

What servers keep

Servers we run keep, for as long as the match lasts, what they need to run it. Two things last longer: a ban (the player name, the IP address and the reason) when a moderator bans a player for cheating or abuse, and a record of moderators' actions. Both are kept to keep matches fair and are removed when the ban is lifted or on request.

Anyone can run a Shoot and Destroy server, and many servers are run by players, not by us. A community server receives the same things listed above and is responsible for what it keeps; we do not control it.

Who else is involved

  • Cloudflare hosts this website and our server list, and sees the IP address of each request as part of delivering it.
  • Apple and Google distribute the game in their stores under their own privacy policies. We receive no personal data from them.
  • Discord, on desktop computers only: when the Discord app is running on the same computer, the game shows what you are playing in your Discord status. That stays between the game and Discord on your computer.

We share nothing with anyone else, and we never sell data.

This website

The website sets no cookies and loads no trackers or analytics. Its Play page asks our server list for the current servers, as the game does.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Chat in matches is between players; servers we run remove players who abuse it.

Your choices and rights

You can play under any name you like, and nothing makes you chat: the game plays the same without it. To have a ban record removed, to ask what a server we run holds about you, or to withdraw from a server we run, write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. Removing the game from your device removes everything it stored there.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes. A change in what the game sends or keeps is also announced in the news on this site.
